The 2012 Klondike Derby is scheduled for January 27-29, 2012. All Troops and Venture Crews in the Louisiana Purchase Council are invited to attend this event. We had an awesome time last year, and we plan to bring back the BEST of Klondike and add some “NEW” events as well.
This Winter Camping and Outdoor Skills competition is a great opportunity for your Scouts to show off and improve on their Scout skills. This is also a great weekend for Webelos involvement, so be sure to invite your local pack’s Webelos den (will need to attend with a troop).
CUB SCOUT KLONDIKE DERBY 2012
That’s right, Klondike for Cub Scouts! Saturday, February 11th. It’s fun, it’s challenging, it’s a great opportunity for all Cub Scouts to come out to camp and compete against each other! We plan to have nearly 20 different events including archery, b.b. guns, relays, knot tying, and of course the dog sled race (with the Cubs as the dogs!). The Cubs will compete in 8 boy dens. If you don’t have 8, no worries, we have all the events setup so we can make sure everyone gets a chance to compete. Check in is from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., opening ceremony is at 9:00 a.m. and closing ceremony is at 5:00 p.m.. Bring a sack lunch.
